Dernok (Gaurok/male): A Gaurok soldier, second-in-command to Gallows and the general’s only real remaining supporter. Inwardly, however, Dernok has plans of his own and waits for the right time to strike at his superior and usurp his command.

Doln (human/male): Husband to Evlynn and father to three sons: Baylin, Jabe and Krumm. A strong and barrel-chested mechanic in his mid-forties. Partnered with Pudge back in the day, hopping around the galaxy on many adventures, tales of which he often recounts to his sons, particularly to a young and impressionable Krumm who hangs on every word. Believes in honor and doing the right thing above all else. At the age of twelve, Doln’s father disappeared on a routine supply run to Earth. He had been serving as Head Engineer when the freighter vanished without a trace. Investigations were conducted by the Collated Space Defense but nothing pointed to foul play. The case was closed and condolences were given to the families of the one hundred and forty-seven member crew. However, their findings did little to quell the discord in him. Leaving a note for his mother, Doln ran away from home and stowed aboard outbound freighters, hoping that in his travels he would discover clues to his father and crew’s disappearance aboard the space freighter The F.J. Ackerman. During his travels he was made “cabin-boy” on a ship and became fast friends with a Beluc that was serving on board. The two became inseparable and throughout the years had many adventures right up until the day he was introduced to Evlynn Adayr.

Evlynn (human/female): Mother to Baylin, Jabe and Krumm. Baylin was already two when Evlynn met Doln. She had been working in a local watering hole on Herok 6 when an old acquaintance in the form of Pudge walked in with a human, covered in engine grease, in tow. Over the years Pudge would go out of his way to stop into this particular establishment just to see Evlynn, but the young woman dutifully denied the alien’s advances. On that particular visit, however, she met Doln and the two developed an instant connection. Raising their three kids, she would often go out at night with the children to look up at the stars. They’d spend hours out there, huddled under a blanket, making up their own constellations and the stories behind them. Some of the more memorable ones include “The Grimoy Gremlins,” “Nockmor the Conqueror of Worlds” and “Ralgnok the Tyranokeet."
